People have asked how we are different from a suicide hot line. We are not a phone operation, we are here in the heart of Barrington to give you immediate, in-person help. Many people who use the national suicide hot lines are people who are contemplating suicide, they are not already engaged in the first step of actually ending their life. This is where we fill in the gap, if you can give us the chance to step in, in-person and get you the help you need, we have done our job.
Live-Love H.O.P.E. House utilizes the A.R.E. intervention format, Assess your likelihood on a scale, Refer you to trusted mental health facilities and Educate people about the struggles of suicide. We hold meetings on Thursday night at 7pm for anyone who wants to learn or talk about suicide…..check back for dates.
We have personally encountered the common stresses that are present in our community – the Barrington area. Our founder, Ray Piagentini has been in the 220 school district for 32 years so he knows our community, he knows the stresses and triggers that exist in our neighborhood. We supplement studies and teachings on suicide along with the actual face to face experience of our 32 years of working with students, and then over time with our student’s children.
Though we are local to the Barrington area, we are here for every person, in every community. We have the skills, passion and know how to help you whether you are a teenager, adult or a veteran.
