Meet the Team!

Ray Paigentini

Ray has been a guidance counselor for the past 38 years and recently retired from education in June 2018. He has been fortunate enough to make some great relationships in the Barrington area and decided that once he retired that he wanted to give back to the families and community which have become such a great part of his life. Ray has his B.S. Psychology, M.A. in guidance and counseling and a M.S. in Education/Administration. Right out of college he worked at Gordan Technical High School then moved on to Fenwick High School and finally St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago before he spent 32 years at Barrington High School as a guidance counselor. One of his passions is working with the Dakota tribe in South Dakota. He created a program where he would bring BHS students out the reservation for a week so they could immerse themselves in the Dakota tribes and learn their rich history. Ray incorporates much of the Dakota’s spiritual teachings into his everyday life which brings him much needed balance when working with suicide prevention.

Jeffrey Mantelman

Jeff has lived over 20 years in the Barrington area and has seen his children go through the District 220 school system. Jeff has a B.A. in Psychology and sociology from American University in Washington DC. He recently retired from owning teen driving schools located in the Palatine and Schaumburg area. Over the years he has had the opportunity to work with thousands of teenagers and their families, he truly enjoyed teaching the youth and learning about what makes them tick. During this time he would be distraught to hear of students taking their own lives but in 2018 this number escalated. He took this even more to heart. Ray had founded Live-Love H.O.P.E. house and asked Jeff if he would like to come on board. Jeff did not hesitate to say yes, he sold his business and is dedicating his business talents to Live-Love H.O.P.E. House.
